Registration Policy:

There have been camp weeks in the past few years where we have had a number of campers in excess of the number of bunks in the cabins. We have accommodated them by sectioning off a part of the loft and laying mattresses on the floor. This inconvenienced these campers by not allowing them the true Camp Wabashi experience of cabin dwelling, not to mention the limited number of showers in the lodge. It also reduced the game room space in the loft for the campers in a week they really needed it most.

The board of directors has decided, for the sake of the campers, that registering more than we have bunks will no longer be allowed, therefore this new policy has been instituted.

In order to reserve a bunk for a week of camp, please pre-register by submitting an application prior to June 1st with a $10.00 nonrefundable registration fee to Camp Wabashi, 3525 E. Harlan Dr., Terre Haute, IN 47802. The camp manager will number these applications by week in the order they are received until the bunks have been filled. These campers are guaranteed a bunk until 5:00 p.m. on the first day of registration, or if arriving late they notify the director to hold the bunk for them. The camp manager will notify those whose applications have come in after the bunks have been filled, that they will be placed in order on a waiting list. If a cancellation occurs the applicant on the waiting list will be notified by the camp manager and he/she may reserve this bunk.

If those on the reserved list neither show up during the registration time of 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, nor notify the director that they will be arriving late, their reserved bunk will be offered to those on the waiting list first, and then to the walk-ins second. As you can see it will be very important to pre-register. The director of the week is the board's designee in applying this new policy and his decision will be final.

Please notice on the application that the check-in time is from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. This is to allow the staff coming in from out of town to get settled and have their meetings prior to the campers' arrival. Pick up time is between 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. We hope all of you understand the need to take this approach and we hope to see all of you at camp this summer.
